The Hubert Bals Fund of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has selected twenty-five film projects that receive grants for script development, digital production, postproduction, distribution or workshops. The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) has announced the four successful projects to be awarded development grants of US$25,000 in the 2012 MPA (Motion Picture Association) APSA Academy Film Fund. Established in 2010, the fund is intended to stimulate film production in Asia Pacific.

Persian filmmaker Vahid Vakilifar’s latest feature ‘Taboor’ (2012) ran in competition at the 53rd Thessaloniki Film Festival. This is his second feature; his first was ‘Gesher’ in 2010.
