Seit 27 Jahren betreiben die beiden Tempelhofer mit einer Schar engagierter Mitstreiter neben einer Art Talkshow im Offenen Kanal diese dem Filmschaffen der afromigrantischen Diaspora gewidmete Filmschau. Dabei sind sie – bei freiem Eintritt – bis heute der ursprünglichen nicht-kommerziellen nachbarschaftlichen Prägung treu geblieben. Ein Beispiel US-amerikanischen community spirits im tiefsten Preußen, das nach langer Odyssee seit vier Jahren im Schöneberger Rathaus einen Heimatort gefunden hat. …”
“…The persons behind it are the African American actors, dancers, teachers and choreographers Donald Muldrow Griffith and Gayle McKinney Griffith who were invited from New York City to Berlin. For 27 years, the two Tempelhofers operate with a group of dedicated supporters on this film presentation, dedicated to the filmmaking of people from the African Diaspora, and in addition they work on a special kind of talk show on the Open Channel (Berlin). Here they are – with free admission – faithful to the original non-commercial neighborhood character of their activities. An example of American community spirits in the middle of deepest Prussia, which for the last four years finally found a home at the city hall of Schöneberg, after a long odyssey. …”

“…I just got back last night from an international black film festival in Berlin, Germany – the Black International Cinema festival. Our documentary, ‘A Zest for Life’, screened on Sunday. We had an appreciative audience, and afterwards, I was interviewed for German television by Prof. Donald Griffith, the festival´s organizer. All in all, I´m pleased with our documentary´s reception. During the week I was in Berlin, I went to lots and lots of films. Some were fantastic. Two that stand out in particular were ‘Africa, the Beat’, by filmmaker Samaki Wanne and ‘Dar He: the Lynching of Emmett Till’, by Rob Underhill (director) and Mike Wiley (screenplay and actor). There were also a group of very interesting shorts from Iran and Afghanistan. …”
“…Ich bin gestern abend gerade von einem internationalen schwarzen Filmfestival in Berlin, Deutschland, zurückgekehrt – dem Black International Cinema Berlin. Unsere Dokumentation ‘A Zest For Life’ wurde am Sonntag präsentiert. Wir hatten ein anerkennendes Publikum und im Anschluss wurde ich für das deutsche Fernsehen von Prof. Donald Griffith, dem Festivalveranstalter, interviewt. Alles in allem bin ich mit der Reaktion auf unsere Dokumentation sehr zufrieden. Während der Woche, die ich in Berlin verbrachte, schaute ich mir eine Menge Filme an. Einige waren fantastisch. “…There is an article (in German and English) in the 2011 program book for the Black International Cinema festival of Berlin entitled, ‘Great accomplishments by a multi-talented artist regarding international exchange: Prof. Donald Muldrow Griffith.’ The term ‘multi-talented’ is completely appropriate. I know Prof. Griffith as the organizer and presenter of the Black International Cinema festival, and as the host and director of the television program ‘The Collegium - Forum & Television Program Berlin.’ [...] Those, however, do not fully describe him and his work. He is also a dancer, and co-founder plus director/producer of the Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre of Berlin. …”
