Third Annual West Texas Film Festival Announces Showcases and Education Day
THIRD ANNUAL WEST TEXAS FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES SHOWCASES AND EDUCATION DAY Odessa, Texas July 19, 2018 The West Texas Film Festival will return for its third year Nov. 15th through Nov. 17th at the Jack Rodgers auditorium at Odessa College in Odessa, Texas. This year’s festival will feature three showcases and an Educational Day. Nov. 15th Tales of Texas — Documentary and dramatic films about Texas Nov. 16th Education Day — Presentations on acting, directing, producing and screenwriting will be offered in the morning followed by the screening of student films from high schools and universities located all over the world. The following will make presentations: Brian David Cange, a New York City producer with over 20 years of dramatic film, documentary and television experience whose credits include The Skeptic (2009), Equity (2016), Marjorie Prime (2017), Take My Nose … Please! (2017) and Roxanne Roxanne (2018). Tracee Beebe, an author, screenwriter and filmmaker from Llano, Texas whose credits include No More Running (2017), Date From Hell (2018) and Dog Years (2018). Shake Jones, an award-winning New York City documentarian, who recently directed and produced The Bicycle Life: A Dutch Love Affair with Pedal Power (2018). James Fite , an award-winning filmmaker from Big Spring, Texas, whose credits include Project Monet (2016), Church Grounds (2017) and I See Something (2017) Nov. 17th Worldview — international documentary and dramatic films Nov. 18th ArtPocalypse — a zombie and a post-apocalyptic feature film will screen that evening “We are excited about the Education Day presenters for this year’s festival and the diverse lineup of films for this year’s festival,” said Harlan Whatley, Festival Director. All screenings and presentations will be held in the Jack Rodgers auditorium on the Odessa College campus in Odessa. The festival is primarily funded through a grant from Odessa Arts. Odessa College, FinalDraft, InkTip and Topo Chico are also sponsoring the festival.
