Producers Guild of America at Cannes!

Kayvan Mashayekh Co-Chair, International Committee Producers Guild of AmericaKayvan Mashayekh Co-Chair, International Committee Producers Guild of America

Returning to the Croisette for his 15th year, Kayvan Mashayekh, the newly elected Co-Chair of the International Committee of the Producers Guild of America, is excited over the prospects of expanding the PGA brand globally. As the World’s largest trade organization of film, television and multi-media producers, the membership now exceeds 8500. With multiple committees dedicated to perfecting their craft along with 17 other affiliations in other countries, the PGA is on the forefront of creating tomorrow’s best producers. With future programs being prepared for Cannes, London, Berlin, Toronto, AFM, Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong, the International Committee is pursuing an ambitious agenda to bring their membership closer to collaborate with other content creators around the world. Mashayekh is staying mum on who the co-sponsors will be, but is very encouraged by the response he has been receiving so far on how important the PGA brand is moving forward.

To get the ball rolling in Cannes, his annual seminar “Producers Without Borders” (now in it’s fourth year) is sponsored by the generous support of their primary Middle East affiliate, The Royal Film Commission of Jordan. Mashayekh enlists the expertise of his bespoke speakers this year by moderating the event with an eye towards helping future filmmakers gain the necessary insight to navigate their projects as international co-productions.

Also, in the spirit of maintaining the PGA’s relationship in France, The Union des Producteurs de Cinema and Film France are joining the PGA for a premiere cocktail networking event to bolster film and TVactivity in France.

Both events are for Cannes Marche badge holders with invitations and RSVP’s are mandatory due to space limitations.
