The 3rd edition of annual Brasilia International Film Festival (BIFF) takes place 28 August - 06 September, 2014. BIFF held its grand opening on Thursday 28 August with beloved screen legend Geraldine Chaplin gracing the festival with her presence; festival attendees say, "Geraldine truly shined". A large international cinema gala was held opening night for the reception of actress Geraldine Chaplin. During the duration of BIFF, the actress will be honored with an homage to her life work in cinema, screening films including: 'Limelight' (1952) by Geraldine's father Charlie Chaplin, David Lean's 'Doctor Zhivago' (1965) and 'All Together' (2012) by director Stephane Robelin.

BIFF will hold a marathon of 34 international film screenings including 12 films in international competition, a global panorama, an animation spotlight and a Geraldine Chaplin retrospective.

Unedited editions of international films from Cannes and Berlin will be screened at the Cine Cultura Liberty Mall.
