It's a wrap!IT'S A WRAP! The 31st Vancouver International Film Festival is over for another year. A BIG thanks goes out to all of our fantastic volunteers, sponsors, staff and most of all, our enthusiastic audiences.
As one of the largest film festivals in North America, VIFF brings Vancouver audiences some of the best films from around the globe. The 2012 VIFF presented over 380 films from 75 countries. There were innumerable successes at this year's festival. We’re particularly gratified that the large majority of films (86% at near final count) received ballot results rating films ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’, and that's with well over 20,000 ballots cast! That's a remarkable success rate, and audience enjoyment is what it's all about in the end. 28.11.2012 | Vancouver International Film Festival's blog Cat. : Apostrophe CDATA Entertainment Entertainment Film North America Orthography The 31st Vancouver International Film Festival Vancouver Vancouver International Film Festival Vietnam Vietnamese culture Vietnamese diaspora Vietnamese International Film Festival Wrap XML

User imagesAbout Vancouver International Film FestivalBoth in terms of admissions and number of films screened, VIFF is among the five largest film festivals in North America. The international line-up includes the pick of the world’s top film fests and many undiscovered gems. Three main programming platforms make our festival unique: we screen the largest selection of East Asian films outside of that region, we are one of the biggest showcases of Canadian film in the world and we have a large and important nonfiction program. Attracting a large, attentive and enthusiastic audience of film lovers, the festival remains accessible, friendly and culturally diverse. As the critics say, VIFF is very much a festival “designed for the benefit of people who love films and people who make them.” View my profile Send me a message My festivalThe EditorUser links |
