As 2021 approaches, the 18th Universe Multicultural Film Festival is now calling for entries from all over the world! The Universe Multicultural Film Festival will be held in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, south of Hollywood on April 2 - 4, 2021. The Palos Verdes Peninsula, located on the picturesque Pacific Coast south of greater Los Angeles, driving distance to Hollywood, the heart of the global film industry. As the top ethnic-themed international film festival, the Universe Multicultural Film Festival always takes its duty of providing the best platform for all multicultural communications through films. In different languages, different ethnic backgrounds, films have been carrying the art of expression. For the local audiences, this is an extremely rare opportunity to get to know world pluralistic culture through local screens.

Every year, hundreds of films from more than 40 countries are submitted to UMFF and compete for different film awards. The winner of each category will be determined by the Hollywood professional judges, and the certificate of finalist and award will be presented at the opening gala and award ceremony. All the films in the running have a chance to be shown to producers and fans from around the world during the festival. The UMFF committee will also arrange a question-and-answer session for planned attendees, allowing filmmakers to hear audience feelings face to face.

To help filmmakers around the world better realize their cinematic ideals, the three-day Universe Multicultural Film Festival features six special workshops. During the festival, the UMFF committee will make every effort to bring wonderful artistic moments to every participating guest, whether it is the opening reception with many film guests gathered together, the live performance of the scripts on the second day, or the red carpet and award ceremony on the third day. These artistic performances are also marked by professional judges on the spot for individual and group performers and serve as a competition to select the UMFF New Star award and the Crown of Maeya Cultural Ambassador.
