FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TRYON, NC — The Tryon International Film Festival (TRIFF) proudly unveils the EcoHarmony Ciné Award, a prestigious category that extends beyond documentary features to emphasize fictional narratives and podcast productions promoting eco-friendly awareness. For the past decade, TRIFF has been a global platform for films championing environmental consciousness, and now, with the EcoHarmony Ciné Award, the festival is placing a premium on the power of fictional storytelling and podcasting to inspire positive action.
The EcoHarmony Ciné Award recognizes and celebrates films, including fictional narratives and podcast productions, that go beyond traditional documentary features. This category is designed to showcase the creative storytelling that can inspire audiences to connect with environmental issues on a profound level. The category naming convention was inspired by the fusion of "Eco" to symbolize ecological awareness and the addition of "Ciné" for an international flavor.
Beau Menetre, Co-Founder of TRIFF, shared his insights: "As we introduce the EcoHarmony Ciné Award, it's important to acknowledge the diverse ways in which storytelling can contribute to environmental awareness. Fictional narratives and podcasts offer unique avenues for creative expression and engagement. TRIFF is excited to place a premium on these mediums, recognizing the impactful role they play in advancing environmental storytelling." Fictional narratives, whether dramas, comedies, or other genres, possess the potential to reach a broad audience and evoke emotional responses that transcend traditional documentary storytelling. Podcast productions, with their accessibility and storytelling intimacy, offer yet another dynamic platform for sharing environmental narratives. The EcoHarmony Ciné Award welcomes both, adding a new dimension to TRIFF's commitment to impactful storytelling. Filmmakers and podcast producers are invited to submit their fictional narratives and podcast productions promoting eco-friendly awareness for consideration in the EcoHarmony Ciné Award category. TRIFF seeks to highlight the diversity of creative storytelling that contributes to positive environmental impact. Submit your films and podcast productions to the Tryon International Film Festival via FilmFreeway: TRYON2024 on FilmFreeway.
The Tryon International Film Festival is scheduled to take place October 10-13, 2024 at multiple locations in downtown Tryon, NC. The introduction of the EcoHarmony Ciné Award represents TRIFF's ongoing commitment to advancing environmental awareness through the art of cinema and podcasting.
