La Cinematheque in PhiladelphiaOoh la la, PCA ushers in 4 more French Films under the programming begun this past fall called, La Cinematheque (click link to see trailer of each film). Delayed a week due to snow, next Thursday, February 25, 6:45pm, Prince Music Theater (1412 Chestnut Street) the series starts off with Les Boreaux De Dieu (God’s Office), directed by Claire Simon - An “auteur” filmmaker captures women talking candidly about sex, pregnancy and abortion. Ray Murray, Artistic Director: Tinsel & Tine is always pleased to find a food and film tie-in: Ticket Prices: $10 for a single ticket/$32 for the series (discounts offered to PCA/Prince and Bryn Mawr Film Institute Members) PCA members receive two free tickets (click HERE to reserve tickets at Will Call) to Les Boreaux De Dieu (God’s Office) and pay $18 for the series of 3 remaining films. • Ricky (March 11th) directed by Francois Ozon - a lyrical and daring” film about an ordinary man and woman who give birth to a most extraordinary son. • Les Grandes Chaleur (Heat Wave) (April 8th) from Canada, directed by Sophie Lorain - a love story with twists and turns between a recent widow and a young incurable kleptomaniac. • Welcome (May 13th) directed by Phillippe Lioretis - a story of compassion between a French swimming instructor and Kurdish teenage refugee boy seeking a new life.
