Thessaloniki Diary Day 3

Last night I went to see a documentary of a belgian compatriot, Fabio Wuytack. Persona non grata tells the story of his father, a priest who lead revolutionary actions in Venezuela. The film really had a lot of success. Beautiful images, well thought script, intelligent editing... All the ingredients for an award, in my opinion...

After I interviewed Fabio,  he offered me to have a drink in a bar on the seafront... We talked a lot and ended up ordering some food... It wasn't cheap but it was so delicious! And the guy was really friendly.... The paradoxe was that, even though we are both belgian, we talked in english because I don't speak flamish and he isn't good at french... The other funny thing is that, despite he was really friendly and positive, I ended up paying both my drink and my meal.... Well, maybe that's how Flamish people invite fro a drink! Hum, I'm intentionally being sarcastic here, because it is well known that wallon and flamish don't like each other, and I think I should entertain this reputation...

This morning I wandered along the seaside and in the city. It was nice and sunny, but no green spaces at all! And cars everywhere that completely ignore pedestrians wanting to cross them!

I also went in a telecommunication tower, where the top part turns on itself. It takes 30 minutes to do a 360 degree turn. Unfortunately, the top is a restaurant! And since smoking isn't banned in public spaces in this country, this place was so smoky that I couldn't stay for more than 1 degree (wich means 30 minutes divided by 360....don't want to calculate it....)

Now I just come back for the happy hour, and tonight there is a reception in one of the hotels...

The night will be short, since I leave for the airport at 3am...!
