Thessaloniki Diary Day 2

Last night was a great night:

I saw the film "Antoine", from Laura Bari, Canada. A very poetic movie immersing us in the fantasy of a blind child who plays to the detective.... When images are missing, other senses become  a powerful means of developing awareness and imagination.... This is the first film of Laura, who is actually a teacher specialised in children with handicaps....

After the screening, I interviewed Laura. This woman was so lovely that I spent the rest of the evening with her.  We went to see Prodigal Sons the film by Kimberley Reed, an american Director.

The film was about her transformation into a woman (she used to be a boy) and about her adopted brother.... I didn't manage to stay until the end... I've seen too many films like that, so personal that it doesn't share anything with the viewer, and so realistic that there is no artistic or universal dimensions at all....

Laura wanted to stay until the end, so I waited for her and then we went to the hip-hop concert, organised in relation to a film about hip-hop that will be screened tonight...

This morning, I'm going to do a bit of sightseeing with a festival volunteer. I'll try to capture a few images that will render the ambient of the festival...
