XMAS FILM FESTIVAL

Well today is the day - its Xmas Eve. This is the day I like best, much more than I do Xmas day to be honest, as I love the build up - shops are manic and plus this is the day that I drive to my parents from Aberystwyth to Worcestershire which is lovely because no cars are on the road (since everyone rushed off on Thursday). It was not much fun coming back to 4 inches of snow though, since I hate snow with a passion, but it was good to get back and arrive into a warm house with a massive fire.

Here's a little extra 'fact of the day' for you - there have never been any Film Festivals which have run on Christmas Day. Sundance and Slamdance are the fests which brighten up a dull and depressing January in the USA (around the 15th I believe this year). So - if you were given the job of having to organise a 'Christmas Film Festival' which would run on Xmas Eve, Xmas Day and Boxing Day what would you screen?

I've just tried to get my schedule together and so far it turns out that its quite a difficult challenge since I've tried to cater for a wide audience and not just myself! (that's only allowed for 'fantasy' type of film festivals! ;) ) I would avoid screening the classics which are on TV and the ones which everyone has seen, I think I'd throw a few anti-Christmas classics in (Bad Santa definitely) as well as some new, great must-see films which are seeking sales agents/distributors and have a fantasy/Xmas element contained within them - one of which would definitely be Rare Exports which we screened at this years Abertoir Festival :)

Season's Greetings everyone, and I hope you get all what you wished for tomorrow :)
