No Zombie

As previously mentioned in my earlier blog, I explained that I had been busy with Abertoir stuff. One of the tasks I faced last week was to try and save this huge Zombie Diaries 2 event which was due to take place on the final day of the festival; November 14th. Loads of different things began to plague the shoot to which the film makers had no choice but to cancel the shoot.

We at Abertoir are all extremely disappointed by this, especially since its our 5th birthday this year and this event in fact would have been a very special one (which we had been tirelessly promoting). However as sorry as I am to disappoint all of the people who had signed up (and myself and the rest of the other Abertoir crew really do feel bad about this) the show – this being Abertoir – will still go on and its going to be a cracker (we’re hopefully going to be releasing our full schedule next Tuesday so watch this space).

One thing my experience of working on this project has taught me, is that film making is never a smooth journey. Things freuqntly go wrong and producing is an incredibly  stressful job. The above may sound obvious and old hat but when your heart is 110% in something like this and you’re simultaneously experiencing the harsh ‘reality’ of film making - it really is a shame when things don’t happen. Obviously the above applies to indie films but also Hollywood and more mainstream films (such as The Fountain for instance), therefore no film project is safe from collapsing in this day and age.
