DAY 2 IN A NUTSHELL

Gender Equality panel discussion "Is 50/50 by 2020 the Way to Go?: An Autopsy of the Situation of Women in the Baltic Film Industry" with several film industry movers and shakers from both the Baltics, Western Europe, and Japan. 

Baltic Preview short film market two-day programme "Together is Better" and "Ready to Be Launched" showcased new short films and works in progress from Baltic countries to invitees. 

R & D Session: Audience Monitoring and Analysis Through Neuroscience surprised Industry guests with a demo session led by team members of Montreal-based, Storytek inaugural cohort alumni project VFC Biomediæ. Film trailers were showcased and reactions analysed. 

Black Nights Stars second day was filled with meetings, audience monitoring through neuroscience, audition simulation, script reading master class and a talk with Screen International and the young actors.

Audience Design seminar lead by Valerie Richter explained how to bring a hands-on focus on audiences into the “classic” development and production process. Download the new TorinoFilmLab Audience Design book (co-written by Valerie Richter and Lena Thiele) here.

DAY 3

WORKS IN PROGRESS PRESENTATIONS

19 films in production or post-production looking for sales agents or festivals for international premieres will be presented at the Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event Works in Progress sessions on November 28.



Programme:

10:00–12:15 Baltic Event Works in Progress Presentation @Screen 2, Coca-Cola Plaza

14:00–16:00 International Works in Progress Presentation @Screen 2, Coca-Cola Plaza



Two Works in Progress showcases: the Baltic Event and International Works in Progress will both be evaluated by the same jury. The International WIP will run for the third time, whereas Baltic Event WIP sees its 16th edition. The audience of the Works In Progress consists mainly of professional buyers, sales agents, film financiers and festival prorgrammers, including representatives of many of the major film festivals in the world.

BLACK NIGHTS STARS #DAY 3

Following one on one meetings, an audition simulation with local actors, script reading master class, as well as a panel discussion and a talk with Screen International, Black Nights Stars runs for the third day. All Industry and festival guests are welcome to participate:

EUROPEAN GENRE FORUM #DAY 3

Running through November 26-29, the EGF Sales and Marketing Lab in Tallinn aims to connect, educate and supporte young and upcoming, as well as already proven, European film talents beginning their career in the genre film industry.



Today brings Demo pitching, sessions on understanding digital monetization, film distribution and a case study among others. 



The Sales and Marketing Lab will finish with the long-awaited Final Pitch of the eight fresh and exciting projects from the participants of EGF 2018 training cycle, taking place on Thursday, November 29.

PRESS AND INDUSTRY SCREENINGS

The Press & Industry screenings are showcasing films participating in the various competition programmes of the festival or have their world premiere in the non-competitive sections. In addition, the programme includes some market screenings that are not related to the festival’s programme.



The Press & Industry screenings are reserved for the PRESS and INDUSTRY / INDUSTRY + FESTIVAL badge holders of the 22nd Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and the 2018 edition of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event.
