Call for Entries: Animated Com Award

Dear filmmakers, game designers, producers and distributors!
Dear friends of the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film!

In 2012, the month of May will yet again be a
fixed calendar date for the animation community. For the 19th time, the
International Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart will be offering
directors, production companies and agencies a platform to present their
films, and a chance to network. Established in 1982, the Festival of
Animated Film Stuttgart has become a key event for animated film in
Germany and is regarded as one of the most important and largest
festivals for animated film worldwide. The best and latest animated film
productions from around the world compete in the festival's competition
programmes for prize money in value of over 60,000 euros.

You are kindly invited to submit films that fall into the category of applied animation and were produced no earlier than October 1, 2010 to the Animated Com Award (more informations).

Prize money totalling 12,500 euros will be awarded for outstanding work in the areas of advertising, spatial communication, and technology and the special award. This award is funded by the Daimler AG, Frauenhofer IPA and Mackevision Medien Design GmbH.

Special Award "Mercedes-Benz Classic: 60 Years of the SL"
In
addition to filmmakers and agencies, this competition is targeted at
students from schools of film, design, and fine arts, and at media
start-ups, who are invited to visualize the Mercedes-Benz SL sports car
in an innovative way. No boundaries in concept or technique (from 3-D
to Stop Motion) have been set for the animator. The submission,
however, must be no longer than 5 minutes. Applicants are given
creative freedom to employ their imagination and to realize their own
visions, in order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the
Mercedes-Benz SL-series.
More information on this competition

Submission Deadline is February 15, 2012.

The entry form and a copy of your film (DVD) must be submitted together to the Film and Medienfestival gGmbH by the deadline.

More information on the entry conditions and prizes can be found in the festival regulations. Please read the regulations carefully before completing the registration form.

The award ceremony will most likely take place at the Mercedes-Benz Museum on May 11, 2012.
