Sky Force trailer launch: Aerial action beyond enemy lines

Sky Force trailer launch: Aerial action beyond enemy lines

After a spate of films about military engagement and espionage across the border, we have a movie that rises in the air and traces the action of the air force, in 1965. The film is titled Sky Force and its trailer was launched last week at the PVR Cineplex at Juhu, Mumbai. Starring Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan, the film introduces Veer Paharia, an assistant director who graduates to a romantic lead with the film. Akshay and Veer were present at the launch, as were a band of boisterous fans, who cheered them both loud and clear.

Based on true events, the trailer begins with the Voice Over of a broadcast made by Field Marshall Ayub Khan, the President of Pakistan, at that time, who says that Indians do not realise which community they have challenged. We then see action scenes in spectacular mode, while even the bespectacled Veer Paharia is seated in the first row. Apparently, Veer goes missing in action, during a sortie beyond enemy lines, but Akshay believes that he is still alive, and an attempt should be made to extricate him, from Pakistan. Also, the love interest of Veer, Sara, is totally distraught, and this eggs Akshay on.

Amar Kaushik, a director by nature, is a producer on this film, along with Gauri Deshpande, for Maddock Films. Gauri was present too. He had kind words to say about Veer, who assisted him earlier. Scheduled to release on 02 October 2024, the film will now be released on 24th January, 2025. Naturally, comparisons will be made with such milestones as Top Gun, an air combat landmark. We will have to wait and watch for another two weeks or so, till the film releases. Akshay said that Sky Force was mainly about Veer, his story, rather than Akshay’s own character.
