MIFF Director moved to IIMCMIFF Director moved to IIMC After a very short stint as Festival Director at MIFF and Additional Director General, Films Division, Manish Desai moves nest week to the Indian Instiuteof Mass Communication, New Dehi, as Additional Director General. He has sent a goodbye note to journalists, including this writer. "Hi,
It has been a decade long association with my friends from Media in Mumbai. My 10 years stint gave me an unprecedented exposure in the form of handling media events of varied nature ranging from high profile state visits to games and film festivals. Even as I strived to put systems in place, I educated myself a lot to add on to my own experience.
True, ever since I took over the responsibility of Films Division in 2016, my direct contribution in PIB had reduced considerably. Yet, I cherished remaining in touch with you all.
I am now moving over to New Delhi, to take up my new assignment as Additional Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communication or IIMC, which is also the training academy of my service - Indian Information Service. I will be closely associated with the the National Centre of Excellence in Animation, Gaming & Comics, to be set up in Goregaon Film City (Mumbai). The project is in preliminary stage now.
I wish to thank all my friends from Mumbai media for the cooperation they extended during my stint here. I am sure you would extend similar cooperation to my successor and batch mate Addl. DG Nitin Wakankar in PIB Mumbai.
Let us remain in touch.
With warm regards,
Manish Desai"
