Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) for Documentary, Short and Animation Films, which begins on 28 January, 2018 in Mumbai, has released the list of films to be screened in four sections. Here is the list of films selected for the International Competition section, in the two duration-based categories, 45 or less and no specified duration. The shortest of the lot runs for 15 minutes while the longest is a marathon 183 minutes long. Films come from India, Canada, Australia, USA, UK, France, Austria, Poland, Finland, South Korea, BanglaDesh, Estonia and Singapore.

MIFF has been organised since 1990, by the Films Divsion of the Government of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

It is a biennial event.

About Siraj Syed

Syed Siraj
(Siraj Associates)

Siraj Syed is a film-critic since 1970 and a Former President of the Freelance Film Journalists' Combine of India.

He is the India Correspondent of FilmFestivals.com and a member of FIPRESCI, the international Federation of Film Critics, Munich, Germany

Siraj Syed has contributed over 1,015 articles on cinema, international film festivals, conventions, exhibitions, etc., most recently, at IFFI (Goa), MIFF (Mumbai), MFF/MAMI (Mumbai) and CommunicAsia (Singapore). He often edits film festival daily bulletins.

He is also an actor and a dubbing artiste. Further, he has been teaching media, acting and dubbing at over 30 institutes in India and Singapore, since 1984.
