Malang’s action-packed trailer releasedMalang’s action-packed trailer released An action-packed trailer of the forthcoming film Malang was released at PVR multiplex, Juhu, Mumbai, today, exactly one month before the scheduled release of the film. The film stars Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani and Kunal Khemu, and is directed by Mohit Suri, who helmed Ek Villain and Aashiqui 2. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kishan Kumar (of the T-Series banner), Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg and Jay Shewakramani. Speaking on the occasion, Suri recalled how it took him only 20 minutes of narration to Bhushan Kumar, the shortest narration of his 12-film career, who immediately agreed to produce the film. Bhushan said it took 20 minutes of narration and 20 minutes of playing the four songs of the film, which had already been recorded. Kumar found the music mind-blowing and was sure that Suri, a man with a very high reputation for filming songs, would picturise them very well too. Luv Ranjan (director of Pyar Ka Punchnama 1 and 2, Sonu ke Titu Ki Sweety, Akash Vaani) confessed that he makes films of a different genre, and would not be capable of directing a film like Malang, which is a faced-paced action movie, so he is content being a producer. Suri did use him as a sounding board, but he had already decided the answer before putting the question to him, only as a bouncing board. Jay revealed that he was a person who gets very nervous and anxiously awaits the release of any film that he has produced. Aditya Roy Kapur, Mohit Suri, Disha Patani and Anil Kapoor Playing the romantic lead pair are Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani. Aditya, who had grown up watching Sylvester Stallone movies, was excited about playing a killer for the first time. In response to a question about his kissing scenes in some other films and now in Malang, he replied that he would honoured if somebody compared him with Emraan Hashmi, who is considered the kissing King of Hindi films. Disha credited the directors for giving her hot roles, and if her pairing with Aditya Roy Kapur proved a hit, she would give all credit to Mohit Suri. Queried on whether she had a long role or a short one, like in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, she asked the questioner to wait and see the film. Luv Ranjan added that it would be inappropriate to reveal more about the film at this stage. Incidentally, Disha was wearing a dress that exposed one leg right up to thin line level. Belying his age, evergreen Anil Kapoor proved a hit with the audience. A question was put to him about how he managed to look so fresh that in the first look pictures of the film that some people wanted to know who the ‘newcomer’ was. He took the question lightly, as, he said, he had taken those compliments. To look fresh and charged, he had exercised a little extra and run a little more that morning. “But by the afternoon, I was feeling drained out,” he laughed. About the role, he said that he had wanted the role that went to Kunal Khemu, but after seeing the film, he felt Kunal had done a great job, and he was happy with his own role. “I am saying this from my heart—watch out for the lead couple—they are going to become stars after Malang. And I am not saying this because I want to promote the film. My prediction is that they will soon become top stars.” The title of the film intrigued several persons attending the event. Mohit tried to explain the meaning, “Mast maula, a man who is carefree and has no attachment to the world. This happens in either of two conditions—when you are in love or when you have had a heart-break. The lead actors in our film all are malangs in their own ways.” Malang is used generally as an appellation for sufi saints, and there is a mausoleum near Mumbai called Haji Malang, a popular destination for devotees. How and why is it applied to characters who are contract killers, and a police inspector, remains to be seen. T-Series is both a leading music label and a top-notch content producing company. Jay Shewakramani’s company is called Northern Lights Films and he has worked on such films as Phata Poster Nikla Hero, Its Entertainment and Race 2. Ankur Garg is a partner and producer at Luv Films, with Luv Ranjan. Aditya Roy Kapur was seen in London Dreams, Guzaarish, Aashiqui 2 and Kalank. Disha has worked in Kung Fu Yoga (Chinese; with Jackie Chan and Sonu Sood), Welcome to New York, Baaghi 2 and Bharat. Malang has a scene showing her emerging from the sea, in a skimpy, red bikini, a ‘10’/ ‘Baywatch’ moment. 63 year-old Anil Kapoor, who began his career in the late 70s, recently acted in Race 2 and 3, Welcome Back, Mubarakan and Total Dhamaal. Kapoor plays Inspector Anjaney Agashe in Malang. Also present on the occasion was Elli AvrRam (Greek-Swedish; Elisabet Avramidou Granlund) , wearing a peek-a-boo, black costume that delved dep into her cleavage, who is part of the cast. Full of four-frame cuts, and breakneck editing, the trailer gives the impression that the film is a mix of violence and sex, gory violence and highly suggestive sex, and has all the makings of a film that might be certified for exhibition to adults only. Wait till February 7, to find out. 06.01.2020 | Siraj Syed's blog Cat. : Aashiqui 2 Aditya Roy Kapur Anil Kapoor Ankur Garg Baaghi 2 Bharat Bhushan Kumar Disha Patani Ek Villain Elli AvrRam Guzaarish Its Entertainment Jay Shewakramani Kalank Hashmi Kishan Kumar Kunal Khemu Kung Fu Yoga London Dreams Luv Ranjan M.S.
