Best Debut Film/Silver Peacock: Monsters, by Marius Olteanu and Abou Leila by Amin Sidi-Boumediene (tie). Award also carries prize money of Rs. 10 lakh (1 million). IFFI Best Actor Award (Male): Seu Jorge, for his role in Marighella. A Silver Peacock and Rs. 10 lakh (1 million). IFFI Best Actor Award (Female): Usha Jadhav, Mai Ghat, Crime No 103/2005 (India, Marathi language). A Silver Peacock and Rs. 10 lakh (1 million). IFFI Best Director Award: Lijo Jose Pellissery, Jallikattu (India, Malayalam language). A Silver Peacock and Rs. 15 lakh (1.5 million). Special Jury Award: Balloon (China), Director Pema Tseden. A Silver Peacock and Rs. 15 lakh (1.5 million). Special Mention Award: Hellaro, Directed by Abhishek Shah (India, Gujarati language). International Film Festival of India, IFFI, itself was awarded the ICFT UNESCO Fellini Medal. The UNESCO Gandhi medal for propagating Gandhian values was given to Rwanda, directed by Riccardo Salvetti. (Siraj Associates) Siraj Syed is a film-critic since 1970 and a Former President of the Freelance Film Journalists' Combine of India.He is the India Correspondent of FilmFestivals.com and a member of FIPRESCI, the international Federation of Film Critics, Munich, GermanySiraj Syed has contributed over 1,015 articles on cinema, international film festivals, conventions, exhibitions, etc., most recently, at IFFI (Goa), MIFF (Mumbai), MFF/MAMI (Mumbai) and CommunicAsia (Singapore). He often edits film festival daily bulletins.He is also an actor and a dubbing artiste.
