Opening Night of Los
Angeles Italia 2011

The party has started with Italian friends and family for a celebration
which on this occasion is the Los Angeles Italia Film Fashion and Art Festival.
The festival director Pascal Vicedomini who is from Southern Italy
really has a knack for combining Hollywood
and Italy and
today was the day to reminisce about the Legendary Oscar winning producer Dino
De Laurentiis and honoring him in a way that was well deserved. The audience
was treated to  2 of the Italian New Wave
films  of the late 1940s and 50s  ”Bitter Rice” and the Foreign Film Oscar
winning film “La Strada” directed by Federico Fellini with actors Anthony
Quinn,Giulietta Masina and Richard Basehart on the big screen  which an experience  beyond words.

Following that was the  documentary film,” An Italian in Hollywood” in
which Dino spoke about his  film career and
his love of  family, pasta and Italy. His
widow Martha De Laurentiis with
her daughter  Dina De Laurentiis.and his
children from his first marriage Veronica De
Laurentiis
, and Raffaella De
Laurentiis
were there to share the love and respect for this
brilliant father who  produced over 500
films and  left us with his film legacy. I
was present at his funeral in November of last year and former governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger, and directors David Lynch, Baz Luhrman were present to eulogize
him.

So tonight actors Franco Nero, Kim Stuart Rossi, Robert
Davi,Sofia Milos,Joe Mantegna, director/writer Bobby Moresco (Chairman of the Board) ,Malin Akerman and
hubby  Roberto Zincone and the beautiful
co-host of E.News Live, Giuliana DePandi plus many other Italian celebrities
and filmmakers were there to commemorate him.

The Festival extends
until February 26 at the Mann Chinese in Hollywood just steps away from the Oscar ceremony at
Kodak theater. So if you want a real taste of Italy in Hollywood you are welcome guest of the festival where admission
is free.
