The opening night was one of the most emotional andstrongest selections of shorts and a feature that I have ever experienced. Startingwith the short animated film, “The Boy and the Tree(“Ena Dentro Mia Fora”)which is an Oscar worthy nomination and the DVD should be placed in everychild’s Christmas Stocking. “Cats keep falling on my Head” (Gata Ex Ouranu) isanother short narrative film about a woman who takes in a stray cat whichbecomes her priority. “Colossi of Love” is a documentary portraying the sexualfreedom and fun on the island of Rhodes and focuses on the Kamaki men whocourted all the foreign female tourists and wooed them with dancing skills, sexualexploits and of course their charm. The feature “Black Field (Mavro Livadi)setin the 1650 was beautifully shot and involves love story of a nun and anOttoman Janissary warrior and a discovery which takes a very different turn.
