RIFF puts Holland in focus

RIFF WILL BE 30. SEPTEMBER TO 10. OCTOBER

Every year, RIFF aims to present unique experiences available to our guests, like the infamous Swimming Pool Cinema at Sundhöll Reykjavíkur or the Drive-In Cinema, where everyone can enjoy a night of film from the safety of their car.

This year, we are proud to present even more exciting events! At the Nordic House, a Dinner & Movie night will feature the amazing chefs of Sonos, who will serve delicious vegetarian courses centred around the theme of the film. For those who enjoy cinema with an exciting dose of adventure and thrill-seeking, we will screen a film in a cave right outside the city.

And to keep with the ever-evolving times of technology, we will add a new section to the Festival, focused around virtual reality: RIFF-XR, where festival-goers can experience the latest award-winning projects within a world that blends cinema and computer games, in co-operation with Raw Fury.

In addition, RIFF will dedicate a special section to Music in film, screening a variety of musicals as well as documentaries about music. We also turn a special focus towards Dutch Cinema, and many honorary guests from the Dutch film industry will join us!

Throughout the week, there will be several parties to celebrate, provided Covid restrictions allow, for example, A complete take over of the city's beloved Loft Hostel. Both our opening and closing parties are also certain to excite, and we look forward to awarding the most outstanding films and filmmakers of the year! All further information about special events and cinema happenings can be found on Riff.is.

Holland is in Focus

Holland has gained quite a reputation in the film industry through the years especially when it comes to documentaries. The Dutch festivals Rotterdam Film Festival and IFDA the International Film Festival in Amsterdam are well known and respected in the industry. RIFF will be screening all the most exciting Dutch titles straight from festivals and welcome a number of prestigious film makers from Holland in relation to the films.

The School Of Housewives has the most views on BBC's Long Shots Festival

It is now possible to view all the films screened on BBC's Long Shots Festival and vote for which one you like the best. We encourage everyone to take a peek as this is a self-proclaimed film festival of film festivals.

The Special Film Course Girls Film will happen this winter

We are proud to announce that our course Girls Film will be available again this winter. The aim of the course is to give young girls the chance to experiment with filmmaking at a young age in hope that we'll see even more talented women filmmakers in the future.
