Movie Geeks Celebrate AL PACINO with Special Guests

*******FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*******

MOVIE GEEKS UNITED!  AIRS SPECIAL 2 -HOUR TRIBUTE TO

AL PACINO WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

This Sunday, June 24, MOVIE GEEKS UNITED!, one of the most popular motion picture-themed radio programs on the internet,  will broadcast an exclusive 2- hour tribute to the versatile and passionate genius of Al Pacino.  The broadcast can be enjoyed in its live format from 6 – 8pm (EST) at www.blogtalkradio.com/moviegeeksunited, or heard any time afterward through the site’s archived show files.

The prestigious guest list, covering all facets of Pacino’s career from stage to screen, is as follows:

Actor, playwright, director and acclaimed New York acting teacher Thomas G. Waites will be featured at the top of the show to discuss his working relationship with Pacino during the Broadway productions of “Richard III” and “American Buffalo”, as well as during the shooting of Norman Jewison’s “…And Justice for All”.  Steven Bauer, the stellar talent who portrayed Pacino’s best friend Manny in “Scarface”, will discuss his contribution to one of the most influential films in cinematic and pop culture history.  The role of Pacino as film director will be explored in interviews with five cast members from Pacino’s latest passion project “Salomaybe?” – Corie Lee Loiselle, Geoffrey Owens, Steve Roman, Joe Roseto and Poncho Hodges. One of our top filmmakers and a crucial influence in Pacino’s early career, Jerry Schatzberg, will speak of his experiences while shooting “The Panic in Needle Park” and “Scarecrow”.  An overall assessment of Pacino’s long and varied career will be discussed with William Schoell, the author of “The Films of Al Pacino”.

“We had a tremendously positive response to the Director’s Series tribute we produced for David Lynch just a few weeks ago,” says Jamey DuVall, producer, co-writer and co-host of Movie Geeks United!, “For our Film Artist’s Series, we wanted to open the field to involve talents from other corners of film, whether it be cinematography, score composition or performance.  A celebration of Al Pacino’s legendary career became an ideal choice for our show’s hosts and loyal listeners alike.”

An internet radio show hosted by three knowledgeable, passionate and hysterically funny cinematic fanatics, Movie Geeks United! features weekly movie talk on a diverse range of film topics and interviews with many of the industry’s leading creative forces, including directors George Ratliff (“Joshua”), Sophie Fiennes (“The Pervert’s Guide to Cinema”), Aaron Katz (“Quiet City”), and Anthony Giacchino (“The Camden 28”), as well as performers like Marcia Gay Harden (“Pollack”). The show airs live every week at 6pm eastern/5 pm. Listeners may tune in during the live broadcast or download for free once the episode is archived. People may also subscribe to the podcast through Itunes subscription.
