Ramsgate International Film and TV FestivalSet in England's Royal Harbour, and the stunning location to multiple award winning and acclaimed TV and Film productions, the 4th Ramsgate International Film and TV Festival will show new works and help promote film makers and cultural awareness. Our screenings will be complemented by an international programme of unique events and seminars, with high profile industry professionals. As an organisation committed to raising the bar on diversity, we particularly welcome submissions that embrace the BFI diversity standards. We are honoured and proud that our Patron, BAFTA, Globe and Cannes Best Actress Winner and Oscar-nominated Brenda Blethyn, will select the winner of First Feature Film Category, and will be joined by Award winning guests. Now in its fourth year, the Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival has quickly gained a reputation for screening high quality films and taking care of their film-makers. A beautiful bronze Anchor is awarded to the Best Film of the festival, as well as other prizes including the Brenda Blethyn special award for Best First Feature. www.ramsgateiftvfest.org LEAVE NOW by Stephen Frost will open the Ramsgate Festival: A supernatural movie shot entirely in the area.LEAVE NOW by Stephen Frost will open the Festival: A supernatural movie shot entirely in the Ramsgate area. In 1916, in a cottage by the sea, Lily and Martha await their latest guest. One hundred years later, Rose Montefiore, recently bereaved, revisits the seaside town where she first met her late husband. However, instead of finding the peace and quiet she seeks, Rose is disturbed by recurring problems with an electrical fault and has to call upon the services of local electrician, Titus, and his son, Robbie.
When Rose saves Robbie's life after an accident she finds herself caught up in the lives of those around her, past and present, who need her help. After she discovers a forgotten phonograph in the attic and listens to the distant voices recorded on an old wax cylinder, she begins to unlock a secret that lies deep within the house itself.
