OFFline Film Festival in Ireland

Charming little festival launched by Bill O' Herlihy (Irish Film Board); based in the Georgian midlands town Birr in Ireland this year celebrates its 4th year running 9th of October-13th  of October www.offlinefilmfestival.com An exciting event for film lovers and filmmakers of a small community in a graceful wide streets and elegant buildings of Birr, right in the middle of the Ireland. The Festival shows Irish and international films in unusual places around the town; it contains feature and short films, film discussions, workshops on all aspects of filmmaking given by industry professionals. 

The most exciting OFFline aspect is the short filmmaking competition. Here people need to shoot and edit a short film in Birr, during the days of festival, with the help of locals in front of and behind the cameras. The winning film is guaranteed a spot in the Galway Film Fleadh 2014. All the films are submitted to an international panel of judges to be screened to the public on the very last day. In addition, the award includes the cash prize.

This year there is the Drive-In, which is going to be placed at Birr Rugby Club (http://www.offlinefilmfestival.com/#!drive-in/c1i4v). Tomorrow at the opening night, and festival will be screening the MOO MAN, where the directors and actors are coming over from UK for a Q&A. 8pm, Birr Theatre and Arts Centre (http://www.offlinefilmfestival.com/#!events/c12cr).
