ALBERT AND HIS WAY

Documentary film Albert's Way directed by Serbian filmmaker Predrag Bambic will be screened at  ASC - American Society of Cinematographers,  www.theasc.com  located in Hollywood at North Orange Drive, between Hollywood Boulevard and Franklin Avenue  according to Frederic Goodich, a secretary of ASC  and director for the international collaboration.  American Society of Cinematographers is a non-profit association dedicated to  the art of filmmaking. Ever since 1919, the ASC has been committed to educating aspiring filmmakers, to the art and craft of cinematography; it accomplishes this by publishing the internationally renowned magazine American Cinematographer and the venerable American Cinematographer Manual, through seminars at schools and industry events, and via one-on-one mentoring. ASC members volunteer their time for such activities.

Ancestors of Albert Mayer, the designer of the Hollywood Pansvision camera and the winner of a couple of Oscars, were from Germany, but settled in Banat, the territory of Serbia. The Turks retreated from this area in the 18th century, and Germans settled here were a minority, engaged in agriculture and farmer jobs. Albert was born in 1936. Perlez near Titel. For his inventions, Albert won four Academy Awards in the category of technical achievements, even the first in 1972. And two Emmy Awards in the same category.
