PLUS CAMERIMAGE HONORS LIAM NEESON

Liam Neeson will be this year's recipient of the Krzysztof Kieslowski Award at the 18th Plus Camerimage Film Festival in Poland. The Award, founded in memory of the late director, recognizes Liam Neeson's outstanding artistic achievement in film - a body of work that reflects and personifies Kieślowski's ideals on the universal truth about humanity and human emotions. Past honorees include Ralph Fiennes, Irene Jacob, Charlize Theron, Isabelle Huppert and Julia Ormond.

Hosted by Grażyna Torbicka, the Award Ceremony will take place at 9.00PM on December 2, 2010 at the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, followed by a screening of After.Life. The film will be introduced by Liam Neeson, the film's director Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo and cinematographer Anastas N. Michos.

Liam Neeson

Bearing both versatility and quiet forcefulness, Liam Neeson has become one the leading actors of his generation. His award-winning and critically acclaimed roles include Schindler's List, Michael Collins, Kinsey, Husbands and Wives, Breakfast on Pluto, and most recently After.Life.

The Irish-born actor made his professional debut in 1976 at the Lyric Players' Theatre production of The Risen People in Belfast. Two years later, after moving to the National Theatre of Ireland in Dublin, John Boorman spotted him playing Lennie in Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men and cast him in the Arthurian legend Excalibur (1981).

Neeson has since appeared in more than 40 films creating some of
the screen's most memorable and distinctively authentic characters. In
1986, he received the first of many Evening Standard Drama Award
nominations for his portrayal of a tormented priest in Lamb, followed by critically acclaimed performances in Andrei Konchalovsky's Duet for One (1986); as a political terrorist in A Prayer for the Dying (1987); a Jesuit priest in Roland Joffe's The Mission (1986), and in Peter Yates' courtroom drama Suspect (1987).

In 1993 Neeson garnered worldwide attention for his starring role in Steven Spielberg's Academy Award® winning film Schindler's List. In addition to winning an Academy Award® nomination for Best Actor, he was nominated for a Golden Globe® and BAFTA Award.

After starring in Michael Apted's Nell (1994), Neeson took on two of his most widely recognized title roles - as the famous Scottish Highlander in Michael Caton-Jones' Rob Roy (1995) and the Irish revolutionary leader in Neil Jordan's Michael Collins
(1996) for which he received the Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival,
a Golden Globe® Best Actor nomination, and London's prestigious Evening
Standard Award for Best Actor.

In 2004, his role as controversial sex therapist Alfred Kinsey in Bill Condon's Kinsey garnered Neeson
a Best Actor award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association as
well as Golden Globe® and Independent Spirit Award nominations.

Neeson's most recently acclaimed performances include Seraphim Falls (2006), Taken (2008), Chloe (2009) and After.Life (2009), which will have a Special Screening at this year's Plus Camerimage Film Festival. He has just completed filming The Next Three Days and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader to be released in 2010, and Unknown to be released in 2011.
