PLUS CAMERIMAGE HONORS LIAM NEESONLiam Neeson will be this year's recipient of the Krzysztof Kieslowski Award at the 18th Plus Camerimage Film Festival in Poland. The Award, founded in memory of the late director, recognizes Liam Neeson's outstanding artistic achievement in film - a body of work that reflects and personifies Kieślowski's ideals on the universal truth about humanity and human emotions. Past honorees include Ralph Fiennes, Irene Jacob, Charlize Theron, Isabelle Huppert and Julia Ormond. Hosted by Grażyna Torbicka, the Award Ceremony will take place at 9.00PM on December 2, 2010 at the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, followed by a screening of After.Life. The film will be introduced by Liam Neeson, the film's director Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo and cinematographer Anastas N. Michos.
Liam Neeson Bearing both versatility and quiet forcefulness, Liam Neeson has become one the leading actors of his generation. His award-winning and critically acclaimed roles include Schindler's List, Michael Collins, Kinsey, Husbands and Wives, Breakfast on Pluto, and most recently After.Life. The Irish-born actor made his professional debut in 1976 at the Lyric Players' Theatre production of The Risen People in Belfast. Two years later, after moving to the National Theatre of Ireland in Dublin, John Boorman spotted him playing Lennie in Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men and cast him in the Arthurian legend Excalibur (1981). Neeson has since appeared in more than 40 films creating some of In 1993 Neeson garnered worldwide attention for his starring role in Steven Spielberg's Academy Award® winning film Schindler's List. After starring in Michael Apted's Nell (1994), Neeson took on two of his most widely recognized title roles - as the famous Scottish Highlander in Michael Caton-Jones' Rob Roy (1995) and the Irish revolutionary leader in Neil Jordan's Michael Collins In 2004, his role as controversial sex therapist Alfred Kinsey in Bill Condon's Kinsey garnered Neeson Neeson's most recently acclaimed performances include Seraphim Falls (2006), Taken (2008), Chloe (2009) and After.Life (2009), which will have a Special Screening at this year's Plus Camerimage Film Festival. He has just completed filming The Next Three Days and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader to be released in 2010, and Unknown to be released in 2011.
