GRAND PRIZE WINNER COMEDY
Lookout Lou (The Big Lebowski meets License to Drive) A neurotic movie usher falls in love with a tourist while combating his fear of travel. With only 24 hours before she departs, he must overcome his inner-anxieties and drive to the Standard on Sunset Blvd. If it were only that easy for Lou Tilly. CATEGORY WINNERS
1) DRAMA WINNER: Rube (Forrest Gump meets The Natural) The true story of the most colorful character in baseball history, a mentally-challenged man who rises to superstardom as a Hall of Fame pitcher and the game's biggest drawing card.
2) ACTION / SCI-FI / ADVENTURE / FANTASY WINNER: The Eaglet (Manchurian Candidate meets Doctor Zhivago) A tough survivalist, a Navy pilot has an ultimate trial of his Native American fortitude when he is shot down over Korea and enemies torture him to force him into treason.
3) HORROR / THRILLER WINNER: Lucid Dreams of Wickedness (Seven meets Zodiac) Troubled by a gruesome nightmare involving a brutal serial killer, homicide detective Vincent Lynch wakes up to realize that not only is the murder real but part of the very investigation that he is heading up.
MENTIONABLE: DRAMA The Jungle (Mystic River meets The Town) When his partner is killed during a heist, a college student turned criminal risks capture when he forms a bond with the deceased's grieving father, who is also the cop on his trail. Shadowboxing The Mob ( Raging Bull and The Fighter) Carmen Basilio refused to be bought by the mob-backed International Boxing Commission (IBC) during the 1950s, boxing's 'Golden Age." It cost him plenty in terms of time, money, and glory. But he put honor first and not only saved the sport he loved, but achieved his boyhood dream of becoming the welterweight and middle weight champion of the world.
COMEDY
I Snatched Andy Warhol (Snakes on a Plane meets Gandhi) An accidental internet superstar hates his web-addled, fame-obsessed generation, and decides to make an example of the founder of the current ideology: Andy Warhol.
V Facter (American Pie meets Sex In The City) A group of girlfriends develop a plan to help Mila get over her ex, Brandon. The solution? Since Brandon was her 'first', the girls decide Mila should sleep with a virgin, but not just any virgin. The 'victim' has to meet a very specific checklist. As if finding this 'qualified' virgin isn't hard enough, Mila falls in love with her 'victim' Jesse. Now things are really complicate, it's no longer just about getting over an ex, but about winning back Jesse after he discovers Mila's initial intentions.
THRILLER / HORROR
Cabin Call (Misery meets Ten little Indians) Fun and pleasure are not the only commodities you can find on a cruise. when the ship starts sailing to the ports of call you might get sea sick but watch for the treatment you'll get on board, it could be poison.
