Alan Cumming at 24th PSIFF
Actor Alan Cumming attended the 'Talking Pictures' program for his latest film 'Any Day Now' (2012) at the 24th Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Alan spoke about his latest performance as 'Rudy Donatello', a lonely drag queen in an L.A. drag bar set in the 1970's. Rudy masks his abysmal solitude while in drag costume until one day his life is changed by Marco, a young boy with Downs Syndrome, who serendipitously crosses his path. Rudy eventually seeks to become Marco's legal guardian but finds great challenges being gay and a cross-dresser. The film deals with the issues of gay partnership and child-rearing in 1970's America.
'Any Day Now' won the Audience Award at: Tribeca, Seattle, Chicago, Woodstock, Provincetown and L.A. Outfest Film Festivals.
