OTF aims to celebrate new and independent filmmakers, their comic masterpieces andtheir excellent sense of humour. We are committed to encouraging andstimulating comedy film production. 

OTFis, and always will be, a grassroots festival, dedicated to championing theindie filmmakers who are the starting point of a flourishing filmmakingindustry.  And we are passionate to bring laughter and joy topeople.

OTF'smission is to inspire and challenge people's ideas of what comedy is, to giveour audience a whole new experience of the way in which funny stories can betold. We achieve this outcome by presenting them with a wide variety of notjust filmmaking styles, but genre's of comedy, too.

OTFhas toured nationally since 2000 and internationally since 2003. OTF was launched in 2008 as aninternational film festival (as opposed to screening exclusively Australiancontent), and we have received an extraordinary range of films from Australianand international filmmakers since making the change.
