Molodist Film Festival - Kiev - Ukraine On My Mind
I remember bumping into Molodist director Andriy Khalpakhchi at the Berlin Film Festival. Worry and distress were markedly noticeable. In a rush we just spoke briefly but the truth was said in Andriy's eyes. I felt frightened and anxious with just one look. Let's hope for Ukraine to return to peace again soon. Kiev Ukraine is in a crisis. The world is on standby watching peace or war unfold in front of it's eyes. Just weeks earlier the Molodist Film Festival 2013 would be the place to be, to be seen watching and screening films, listening to good music and attending great conferences. These images were shot just weeks before bullets would be fired and bodies drop. Kiev was film and fun. Life turns on a dime 180 degrees.
