Final Cut in Venice - Upcoming application deadline

We like to remind you that the deadline to submit a film to the 10th edition of Final Cut in Venice will be Monday, June 20th.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to present your film  at this prestigious workshop, which will take place from 3rd to 5th September, 2022, as part of the Venice Production Bridgeduring the 79. Venice International Film Festival.

The Venice Production Bridge launched Final Cut in Venice ten years ago to provide concrete assistance in the completion of films from all African countries and IraqJordanLebanonPalestine and Syria; and offer producers and directors an opportunity to present films still in the production phase to International film professionals and distributors in order to facilitate post-production and promote co-production partnerships and market access.

The quality of the program is underlined by the fact that most of the projects are selected in A-Festivals afterwards.
To name but a few of the most recent titels, Under the Fig Trees by Erige Sehiri has been selected for the Quinzaine des Realisateurs in 2022.
The Sea Ahead  by Ely Dagher, that won the Premio La Biennale di Venezia at Final Cut in Venice 2020, was selected at Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in 2021, while We, Students! by Rafiki Fariala was greatly acclaimed in the Panorama section at Berlinale 2022.

General terms of eligibility for Final Cut in Venice:

All works submitted must be in post-production and made exclusively by filmmakers from the specified countries (all African countries and  Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria).
Only feature fiction or feature art-house documentary films (expected min. length of each film: 60 minutes) will be considered.
It is preferable to send a complete working copy of the film. Should the film still be in an initial editing stage, a series of edited sequences will be accepted (totalling at least one-third of the overall anticipated length of the film), accompanied by the director’s statement of intent and a film treatment.

The workshop includes the screenings of material of the selected films in the presence of the directors and producers. Only Industry pass holders will be allowed to attend the screenings: producers, distributors, operators, buyers, festival programmers, representatives of the institutions and others invited in advance by the Festival management.
