Todays News: Monday May 22Premiers "Lights in the Dusks", "The Caimen", and "X-Men: The Last Stand" premiere today in the Lumiere Theatre of the Palais. Creativity in Question It is the midpoint of the festival and the artistry of some of the films are in question. Critics argue that there is little creative representation. "The Da Vinci Code" and "Southland Tales" were seen as disapontments. Others are rooting for "Volver", "Red Road", and "Ten Canoes" which have been said to save the artistry of the Festival. Go Gore Former Vice President, Al Gore, was cruising the Croissette to support his documentary 3An Inconvenient Truth". The documentary is a slideshow of his dedication to global causes. The film focuses on the dangers of global warming and the clmimate change. Gore says he is done with running for office but is honored to be walking the red carpet and promoting "Truth" here in Cannes. Iran is Missing If you walk along the Village International you will notich the empty Iran Pavillion. The lack of Irans pressence has less to do with its political situation rather than its film makers crossness. Iranian films were blanked from Cannes Official Selection so the Iranian Industry called for a festival boycott. Irans first participation was last year and its empty space contrasts with the hustle and bustle of the International Market. Who's in Cannes?
