Awards 2009

Out of all submission, roughly 200 films are selected for the competitions of the Hamburg International ShortFilmFestival each year. There are several awards in each section as well as cross-competition prizes, all in all adding up to more than 30.000 euro in prize money. The winners will be announced on Sunday, 7 June 2009 at the Award Ceremony.

Mo&Friese Children's ShortFilmFestival

• Friese Award (Children's jury award, programmes for 4-8 year-olds, sponsored by Springer Bio-Backwerk, EUR 1.250)
• Mo Award (Children's jury award, programmes for 9-14 years-olds, sponsored by GEOlino, EUR 1.250)
• In the High Five! (Topic 2008 My favourite place) competition 3 awards (EUR 600 in total, sponsored by GEOlino) will be arwarded

Cross-competition Awards

• arte Short Film Award (acquisition of screening rights and a broadcast in arte's short film programme, EUR 6.000)
• ZDFdokukanal Award (acquisition of screening rights and a broadcast on ZDFdokukanal)
• MUSIC in a SHORTFILM Award from the GEMA foundation presented by RockCity Hamburg e.V (one national and one international award for the most innovative sound design, EUR 2.000 each)
