Not to be missed at Bangkok festival (BIFF 2009)BANGKOK ~ With just two weeks to go before the start of the annual Bangkok International Film Festival on September 24, the film selection is now complete and details are being added daily to the festival website. It looks like another great line-up. The artistic director of the festival, Yongyoot Thongongboon, has pointed to five films in particular that he says should not be missed. They are J’ai Tue Ma Mere (I killed My Mother) by 20-year-old Canadian director Xavier Dolan; the German language Everyone Else, directed by Maren Ade; Swedish director Lukas Moodysson’s Mamoth; Jacques Audiard’s Un Prophete (A Prophet); and last but not least, Pedro Almodovar’s light comedy, Broken Embraces. A festival spokesman said that, with the exception of films to be shown at the opening, closing, and special programs, the full list of films in screening will be announced tomorrow (Friday). The program of seminars and workshops is still being finalised but will also be announced within 24 hours. “This year, seminars will be a very valuable part of the festival. The quality of speakers attending is truly impressive, and the topics are extremely relevant,” said the spokesman, without divulging details. 10.09.2009 | Jeremy Colson's blog Cat. : 20-year-old director Almodovar bangkok Bangkok Bangkok International Film Festival Bangkok International Film Festival Broken Embraces CDATA Director Everyone Else Film Film festival Jacques Audiard Lukas Moodysson Maren Ade Maren Ade Pedro Almodóvar Person Career program Seminars spokesman spokesman , without divulging details Technology Technology workshops Xavier Dolan XML FESTIVALS
