Interactive Events Announced 2015

We have recently announced a couple of very exciting interactive events for our film making public out there. A great chance to get involved and actually be part of the film festival experience.

First event.... IOMFF Introduce 'Pitch Fest' During this year's festival, organisers are giving filmmakers the unique opportunity to pitch their short film idea to a panel of experts - which includes representatives from Pinewood Group and Isle of Man Film - with the chance to obtain additional funding for their project. Up to three successful candidates' films will be offered financial support on a match-fund basis, with up to £7,500 available per project from Isle of Man Film* To apply for a slot on the pitching session, the public was asked to submit a brief synopsis of their project by 7th August. The chosen project must be shot entirely on the Isle of Man and, although the applicant filmmaker need not be island-based, a portion of the crew must be Manx. *Full details and terms will be made available to shortlisted applicants. Candidates will be informed if their application has been successful by Monday 10th August. Pitching will take place on the afternoon of Friday 11th September. Entrants must be available in person on the Isle of Man on this day.

Second event.... GET CREATIVE this summer with IOMFF2015! An original poster competition for under 18s! Come up with your own film title, in any genre (comedy, thriller, drama, horror etc), and logline (one sentence that sums up the movie), and think of two or three actors who you would like to star in your film, then GET CREATIVE and make your movie poster! TIPS: Check out posters for your favourite films online to get ideas on layout and content. Include a review (5 stars of course!) or quote to really sell your film to the public. Make your movie title BIG and BOLD. Think of a production company name and a few key crew to list at the bottom of the poster Open to under 18s, with category prizes based on age. Can be created in any format. Shortlisted entries will be printed and displayed to the public at IOMFF2015 in September, and judged by a very special festival guest. Entries should be sized to A3, saved as high resolution jpg and sent by email to christy@isleofmanfilmfestival.com. Hand painted/crafted entries should be posted or hand delivered to:- Isle of Man Film Festival, 14 Victoria Road, Douglas IM2 4ER
