Say it in Russian Wins Three Indie AwardsBeverly Hills, CA (PR WEB) December 1, 2008 -- Imperia Entertainment has won the prestigious Best in Show Award for Feature Films from The Indie Fest for its feature film, "Say it in Russian." Indies were also given for excellence in cinematography (Emmanuel Vouniozos) and an Award of Merit was awarded to Actor Rade Serbedzija or Best Supporting Actor. This marks the fourth time Say it in Russian has been officially selected by a film festival for Best Feature Film . The film had an "avant-premiere" at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in June, and was nominated for Best Feature Film by the Other Venice Film Festival, the Geneva Film Festival and the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival. Filmed in Paris, Moscow and Los Angeles, with exceptional cinematography and a fully orchestrated original score, "Say it in Russian" stars Russian actress Agata Gotova, in the lead role of the film as Daria Larina, the daughter of a rich Russian mafia oligarch played by Serbian actor Rade Serbedzija. Gotova's character falls in love with the American Andrew Lamont, played by actor Steven Brand, but Andrew soon finds on a visit to Moscow that he is involved with a family that is more complicated and dangerous than he ever imagined. The film also stars Academy Award Winner Faye Dunaway, who plays the role of Jacqueline, a Paris socialite who acts as the matchmaker for Andrew and Daria. "We are pleased at the level of recognition our film has received in the festival circuit," said Kenneth Eade, Executive Producer. "We have also had very good response from international buyers and it's our belief that the awareness developed during our festival tour will increase sales," he added. The Indie Fest recognizes film professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social change. Entries are judged by highly qualified professionals in the film industry. Information about the Indie Fest and a list of recent winners can be found at www.theindiefest.com. In winning an Indie, Imperia joins the ranks of other high-profile winners of this internationally respected award. Thomas Baker, Ph.D., Chairman of the Indie Fest, remarked, "The Indie is not an easy award to win. Entries are received from around the world. The Indie helps set the standard for craft and creativity. The judges were exceptionally pleased with the exceptionally high quality of entries. The goal of The indie is to help winners achieve the recognition they deserve." Say it in Russian screens this Friday night at the Carmike Theater in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as an official selection of the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival.
