homochromFilmfest homochrom is one of the youngest, but already one of the largest of 25 LGBT festivals in Germany. It takes place in Germany's gay capital Cologne as well as in Dortmund each year in October. It has audience awards for feature and short films. As the festival is paired with a monthly cinema series (Filmreihe homochrom) in six cities of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan area from Cologne to Dortmund, the film festival focuses on new international films and premieres. It is funded by a state ministry, the cities of Cologne and Dortmund as well as the state's film fund Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. Filmfest homochrom – German premiere of "Kill Your Darlings" is opening filmFilmfest homochrom is the LGBT film festival of Rhine-Ruhr, Europe's biggest polycentric metropolitan area, with Germany's gay capital Cologne and the largest Ruhr city, Dortmund. Although it is the youngest of Germany's queer film festival, it is already establishing itself as a fresh premiere festival. Its third edition will take place in October 2013 under the patronage of Mrs. Hannelore Kraft, Minister-President of the state North Rhine-Westphalia, and the opening film has already been announced. It will be: KILL YOUR DARLINGS (German premiere) (USA 2013, 104 min, directed by John Krokidas, with Daniel Radcliffe, Michael C. Hall, Ben Foster) Date: October 16th Location: Cologne, Germany
