The regular submission deadline for the 7th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival is this Friday, April 15!  HollyShorts takes place August 11-18, 2011 at various locations in Hollywood, CA.

Congratulations to the April HollyShorts monthly screening audience choice winner Shalako L. Gordon. Shalako's short film "The Truth About Lies" picked up the most votes and with the win gets an automatic bid into the 7th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival

In the Spotlight this week is the 7th Annual HOLLYSHORTS FILM FESTIVAL, an annual showcase offering the best and brightest short-form filmmakers prime industry exposure in Hollywood, California.

Since its inception in 2004, HSFF has gained impressive momentum exhibiting the short-form works of talents such as David Lynch, Eli Roth, Paul Haggis, Scarlett Johansson, James Franco, James Caan, Scott Porter, John Dahl, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kirsten Dunst, Courteney Cox, Jessica Biel, David Arquette, Demi Moore, and Josh Brolin. With such a star-studded list of alumni, lucky emerging filmmakers will find a unique opportunity at HollyShorts to showcase their work alongside A-list stars and industry heavyweights.

Taking place in the movie capital of the world, media and industry presence is abundant, with past seasons receiving write-ups in The Los Angeles Times, In Style Magazine, and indieWIRE. MovieMaker even named HollyShorts one of 25 festivals "worth the entry fee."

MISSION AND OBJECTIVE
HollyShorts is dedicated to showcasing the top short films produced, 30 minutes or less in runtime, from around the world.

HollyShorts' jury consists of successful industry pros; past seasons have seen the likes of Mark Fergus (Writer, CHILDREN OF MEN), Jimmy Jean-Louis (Actor, "Heroes"), Jessy Terrero (Director, SOUL PLANE), Jamie Linden (Writer, DEAR JOHN), Maurissa Tancharoen (Writer/Actress, "Dollhouse"), Lucas Carter (The Weinstein Co.), L. Philippe Casseus (Writer, FREELANCERS), and Peter Russell (Story Analyst, Walden Media).

HSFF features a star-studded red-carpet opening night reception, screenings all week, industry panels, and awards and receptions for the community and filmmakers.
