Opening of 33rd annual Göteborg International Film Festival

33:rd Göteborg International Film Festival has started!

Indian tigres, samosas, skateboarding, and dancing all night long – the 33:ed edition of Göteborg International Film Festival stated off with a huge eclectic party last night.

The classic venue Trädgår’n was transformed into an international party house to celebrate the start of this year’s edition of

Scandinavia’s biggest film festival. This year’s  theme is SHARING; a timely word in our increasingly global society. About 450 films from more than 70 countries will be screened during the festival, with special focus on two booming film societies: “Nollywood” (Africa) and “Bollywood” (India).

Newly back from my own first trip to India, I felt right at home at the opening. And I look forward to catching lots of films from both India and all over the world this coming week.

Enjoy these pictures from opening night and stay tuned for more…
