The official selection of films competing for the main festival award the Vicious Cat (Best Feature Award) at this year's Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival, taking place from July 25 to July 30 in Ljutomer, Slovenia, is hereby announced. The films in competition are:

Other competition programs include Slak's Vicious Cats (Best Short Film), Golden Melies nomination (nomination for Best European Fantastic Short Film) and Noisy Cats (Best Documentary). This year's honorary Vicious Old Cat goes to legendary producer Menahem Golan.

We also proudly present this year's poster, created by Laibach Kunst, who are in charge of visual presentation of the festival.

Other guests confirmed for Grossmann 2011 are Dinko Tucaković (Ser), Andreas Marschall (Ger), Heiner Thimm (Ger), Stevan Filipović(Ser), Mad Squirrel FX ( Ser), Damir Lukačević (Ger/Cro), Marek Dobeš (Cz), Gergely Trócsányi (Hun), Lars Nilsen (USA), Jonas Žnidaršič (Slo), Katarina Čas (Slo), Nenad Bekvalac (Ser), and Velimir Grgič (Cro).

Many cinematic pleasures also await in our non-competitive sections Europe Express, Asian Tigers, Grossmann Grindhouse, Lovecraft's Tentacles, Cat's Boutique and others, with films such as TETSUO: THE BULLET MAN, DARK SOULS, KAJINEK, BONG OF THE DEAD, THE TAINT, EATERS, OPSTANDELSEN, THE WHISPERER IN DARKNESS, DIE FARBE and exclusive promo reel of Dinko Tucaković's forthcoming DOCTOR RAY AND THE DEVILS.

Grossmann festival this year also offers a very special event on Saturday, namely Vampire's Ball that will have the town of Ljutomer crawling with vampire hordes. The transormation of visitors into vampires will be made possible by professional make-up and special FX team Mad Squirrel FX from Belgrade. Vampire's Ball will also feature a concert with UK's kings of psychobilly The Meteors, as well as extremely amusing Queen of the Scream competition under the giudance of Diana Barrows.

In the Little Workshop of Horrors guerrila film crews will be making their short films during the festival, while the gruesome Torture Garden will feature a ferocius B-movie marathon of the highest order.

Festival will also hold exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, photograpies and other works of art, with contributing artists Laibach Kunst, Blaž Porenta, Soultret, NS Art, Dizzy Strings, Shlosart, Rubber Clad Fairy, Pandemonium Clothing and Domus Extremus. Architectural design group Štajn will provide numerous urbanistical solutions to the festival venues.
