Future of Cinema Salon at Cannes
FUTURE OF CINEMA SALON @ CANNES -- Following last year presentation in Cannes of the panel on the future of cinema (see below) CFC Canadian Film Center and Filmfestivals.com have joined again to bring to Cannes a space for dialogue for film professionals.
This venture is part of an annual series of panels, demos and knowledge sharing that look into how the world of cinema is changing with the advent of interactive technologies
Future of Cinema Salon 2007 will include:
1. Interactive Cinema Workshop, screenings and demo of interactive works from innovative filmmakers. 2 screenings (a true world premiere) are scheduled in the Market screening room. Watch out for more details on this exclusive, invitation only, event.

3. Showcase of interactive work from visionary filmmakers

The Cannes Market, Filmfestivals.com, MM2 Editions and Moving Pictures hosted THE CONFERENCE :
THE FUTURE OF CINEMA
The conference began with keynote speakers:
- Frank Otto, the composer and director of the first open source rock opera movie
- JD Lasica, the author of Darknet: Hollywood’s War against the Digital Generation.
After, the panel discussed the future of film. Panellists included:
- Matt Dentler, the film festival producer of one of the most innovative US festival, SXWS,
- Donald Ranvaud, the CEO of a leading digital screens network,
- Ana Serrano, the director of the New Media lab part of the Canadian Film Center
- Neil Braun – President, Feature Films and Television, Idt Entertainmet
- JD Lasica, author of Darknet.
The sound is not too good, specialy in the beginning, due to the crowd and the short distance to the beach. It is Cannes.
