The ins and outs of the niche film festival circuit
PROVIDENCE, RI (March 4, 2008) – The Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) and Borders Bookstore hosts its monthly film forum on March 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the Borders Bookstore Providence Place Mall.
The question addressed and answered: Now that you’ve made your film, you need to ask yourself, “How do I get it out there for people to see?”
The festival circuit is one of the most popular and useful tools for connecting your film to an audience. But few filmmakers understand the steps involved in getting their film ready for submission. With the explosion of regional festivals, it is important to strategize how and where your film will be exhibited.
At this Forum, filmmakers can learn firsthand from the directors of Brown University’s Ivy Film Festival, the largest student run film festival in the country. Featuring Megan Boudreau, Executive Director; Elizabeth Backup, Associate Director; Eric Dahlbom, Programming Director, Chase Huneke, Senior Programmer and with host Adam Short, RIIFF's Producing Director.
