Karim Quelhaj's films retrospective at Fantasporto 2024Fantasporto 2024 is pleased to announce the complete retrospective of the director who won Fantasporto'2023 with the film MEGALOMANIA. Karim Quelhaj's. The retrospective include the films Parabole, Le Repas du Singe, L'Oeil Silencieux, Une Realité par seconde and, of course, Megalomaniac. There will be a MOVIE TALK with his participation and his producer Florence Saâdi, who has agreed to be a member of the International Jury. A symbolic tribute to the Belgian director is also planned.
It should be noted that the Festival will run from March 1 to 10 and that it has previously announced that, the retrospective section. It will highlight the Hungarian fantastic cinema by screening the films Semmelweiss - Lajos Koltai, Mastergame- Barnabás Toth, Post Mortem- Péter Bergendy, Preparations To Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time/ Felkészulés - Lili Horvát, Liza, The Fox Fairy- Károly Mészáros, Strangled- Árpad Sopsits, Comrade Drakulich- Mark Bodzsár, Half Way Home- Isti Madarász, Supporting Actors- Árpad Sopsits, the latter two also in the festival's official competitions. There will also be an unprecedented worldwide exhibition of real image films from Japanese manga (comics), showing the films Baian, the Assassin M.D. 1, Baian the Assassin M.D. 2 by Shunsaku Kawake, Tokyo Revengers 2- Part 1, Tokyo Revengers 2- Part 2 by Tsutomu Hanabusa- Fly Me to Saitama 2 - From Bivva With Love by Hideki Takeuchi, Don't Call it Mystery by Hiroaki Matsuyama. Also can be seen a focus on the little-known cinema of Kazakhstan with the films Goliath- Adilkhan Yerzhanov , in competition at Directors' Week, The Diamond Sword by Rustem Abdrashev and The Golden Throne by Rustem Abdrashev, both considered a new version of "Game of Thrones", and Dawn of the Great Steppe by Akan Satayev.
