Filmfestivals.com returns as media partner of Fantasporto 2024 /44th Porto International Film Festival

The festival reveals the full program of this new edition as well as the official poster.

The festival will be held at Batalha Film Centre from 1 till March 10th and will screen around 100 films from 34 countries, all of them as national première, european, International and World Première. Most of the directors and teams of the films in competition will be present as well as representatives of the production companies, sales agents and international and portuguese media.

As always the program includes 4 competitions: the main one, Fantasy with 30 features, a section that includes a short film competition, the Director ́s Week, The Orient Express one dedicated to Asian films and the Portuguese Award Competition.

The opening night presents the Cannes success "Testament" by the world respected director Dennis Arcand and the festival will close and announce their awards March 9th screening the amazing super production coming from China, Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms by Wuersh.

The retrospectives are dedicated to Karim Quejad, belgium director that won Fantasporto 2023 with "Megalomania" and it will receive the Fantasporto Career Award, a Kazakhstan retro, a surprising Hungarian retrospective with films of the young and most promissory directors of the actuality, some of them traditional visitors ans winners of several awards at Fantasporto and a very special programme dedicated to Manga direct to real image, a new concept developed by Pony Canyon, Fuji and other japanese companies, that will have the presence of some of the actors and most of the producers.

Fantasporto is sponsored by the Portuguese State, the Porto Town Hall and some private companies.

Welcome to Porto in a fantastic period that we will live during all the festival: the last week of the electoral campaign for the legislative parliament and that has the votation the 10th March, the day in which the festival screens some of the awarded films and that we will have the Oscar´s 2023 Night!
