MY BROTHER CHASES DINOSAURS Wins EFA Young Audience Award 2020

2,000 Young Jurors From 32 Countries Elect MY BROTHER CHASES DINOSAURS by Stefano Cipani

YAA 2020 - online: Winning director Stefano Cipani, EFA Director Marion Döring and host Ivana Noa

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the originally planned theatre screenings had to be cancelled. The 12-14-year-old jury members watched the three nominated films online on Festival Scope, had the opportunity to discuss the films in various video groups and then cast their votes online. Moderated again by former YAA jury member Ivana Noa, the 30-minute awards ceremony was streamed live on yaa.europeanfilmawards.eu where it remains available for those who missed it. Visibly moved, the winning director Stefano Cipani thanked his supporters and producers and exclaimed “I don’t know what to say, I am so excited!”

The YAA continues to include various platforms for the general public to watch the nominated films: EFA Productions, EFA’s in-house production company, brings the EFA Young Audience Award films out Europe-wide on Video-on-Demand (T-VoD) platforms, like iTunes, Google Play, Microsoft and Pantaflix, on the regional Balkan-platform Cinesquare, as well as on local platforms like Filmin!

EFA Productions teamed up with Under The Milky Way for this initiative with the support of Creative Europe – Media Programme of the European Union, to make the nominated films available for young viewers all year around. Those who could not participate in the EFA Young Audience Award event now have the possibility to watch the nominated films online. Find out where to watch them at yaa.europeanfilmawards.eu

The EFA Young Audience Award is organised and presented by the European Film Academy and EFA Productions with the support of Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) and the Creative Europe – Media Sub-Programme of the European Union. The national YAA events are organised with the support of the respective national partners.
