EFA Master Class on Virtual Production

High Value for Your Budget

Virtual production allows filmmakers to interact in real time with their virtual film world, blurring not only the boundaries between real and virtual world, but also within the production pipeline between pre-production, production and post-production. How has this influenced the production workflows and how can it be put to use to the best creative effect and production value? Those were only two of the questions addressed by the EFA Master Class 2014 HIGH VALUE FOR YOUR BUDGET with Marc Weigert. 

From 2 to 8 July, the EFA Master Class brought 20 European film professionals, among them directors, producers, VFX experts, a DOP and a production designer, to Studio Babelsberg in Potsdam, located on the outskirts of Berlin.

Examining all the changes in workflows from early preparation to final delivery and the impact they have on producers, directors, DPs, production designers and other creative personnel, both from a managerial and creative storytelling standpoint, the workshop also included special visits by colleagues and collaborators of the tutor: visual effects supervisor Ed Bruce and art director Sebastian Krawinkel shared their experiences with the participants from Croatia, Estonia, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden and UK.
