The11th Encounters South African International
Documentary Festival will be held in Cape
Town ONLY from the 2nd – 19th
July 2009.
The reason for not hosting the Festival in Gauteng this year is
that we have received limited funding this year. This is as a result of the
current global financial crisis and the crisis in the local film industry. The
brand of the Festival will remain the same, with an exciting line-up of local
and international films already programmed for this year. We believe this
re-alignment will further grow our brand, and compel patrons from different
provinces to make the annual documentary pilgrimage to Cape Town every July.
The festival will be held in the NU-Cinema at V&A Waterfront in Cape Town
