Howling at the Great Wolf Lodge

By Emmanuel Itier and Roxanna Bina

You should have seen the beasty faces of our three sons, Felix (18), Max (11) and Rex (9) when my sweet wife, Roxanna, decided to book a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge for their birthday. Our sons had heard plenty about this amazing, totally immersive, unique world that is the Great Wolf Lodge ( www.GreatWolf.com ).

Great Wolf Lodge began as a small indoor water park resort in 1997 in Wisconsin and then, a second location was added in Ohio. The operation kept growing and now counts 19 different resorts in the U.S!

What is amazing with this experience is that the whole family can partake, together, to several water rides or they can let the kids enjoy themselves in a very safe environment, constantly checked by professional guards and while the parents can sip a nice cocktails by the pool areas.

Our resort was the one located in Los Angeles, in Garden Grove, with a massive structure giving access to a 105,000 square foot water park with over 14 slides and 4 pools, and with an ideal temperature of 84 degrees year-round. As soon as you get to the entrance of the lobby it is not rare to encounter some of the wolf characters for the biggest pleasure of the kids. The photo opportunity is a “must”, and this can only lead to a slice of pizza to devore at the Hungry Wolf pizza joint on the lower level. And before entering the lair of our little birthday wolves which was beautified by a birthday package bought by my wife and coming with balloon, surprises, and a big birthday delicious cake. Truly this is the perfect destination for any kid’s celebration or just because you crave having a good time with your family. Whether the kids chase each other like a pack of wild wolves in the “Fort McKenzie” structure with an interactive four-story treehouse complete with slides or they grab a tube and float in the “Cooked creek” or they pump up their energy with the “Alberta falls” and its four stories exhilarating tandem tube ride, this will be the time of their lives and you will feel, as parents, so empowered with the love and fun you offered to your whole family.

Great Wolf Lodge is also into humanitarian work as they partnering with The Internatiional Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards who is the global leader in autism and neurodiversity certification. The goal is to enhance inclusion and accessibility at its 19 resorts across the U.S.  Finally, Great Wolf Lodge is a parent’s favorite when it comes to a choice for a summer camp-in for the kids. They are offering until late August the nostalgic fun of summer camp with themed programming for families looking for the perfect summer getaway, including arts and crafts, character appearances, trailblazer challenges and even a campfire ceremony.

So, don’t hesitate when booking your next escapade with the whole pack and head straight to one of the 19 resorts of The Great Wolf Lodge. We can already hear you howling at the moon with full cheers and pleasures.
